The conductor, researcher, and founder of the La Madrileña period instrument orchestra, José Antonio Montaño, releases an exquisite historically-informed project, the result of years of work that come to life in a careful recording centered around the figure of the composer Francesco Corselli, Master of the Royal Chapel of Madrid for forty years.

 

This recording features five world premiere recordings for solo alto and orchestra, performed by one of the most prominent figures on the international historically-informed scene, countertenor Carlos Mena, as well as two other world premiere recordings by composers Giovanni Battista Sammartini and Mauro D'Alay.
