COMPOSER'S NOTES

How do you tell a child that someone has died? Legend has it that when one of our loved ones dies, their soul travels to eternity on the back of a nightingale, which perches on a cloud so that the deceased can admire the beauty of nature for the last time and shed a tear that can quench the thirst of sadness of those of us who still remain on earth. That is why the work begins with the beating of a heart and ends with its last beat.
